The Adventures of Pona & Gus are a series of children's books about a wonderfully eclectic, but shy Hippopotamus, Pona, and best friend, gregarious and spontaneous Golden Retriever, Gus.

The series focuses on stories to help children cope with the trials of being a child today.  Each book touches on subjects that we see children dealing with such as, anxiety, loneliness, bullying, meeting new friends, and adjusting to change.

Pona, is based on a wonderful woman named Kerri, and Gus is based on my Golden Retriever, Gus.  I always thought about the two of them off on adventures based on their complementary personalities.  My hope is that these stories can bring joy, understanding, and be a helpful starting resource to children and parents alike.
